Daisy Update--February 4, 2021

 Daisy Families and Staff,

Thanks so much to our Daisy Students, Families and Staff who have worked so well together to make this week of Remote Learning productive and worthwhile for all.  We look forward to welcoming our students and staff back to full, in-person school on Monday, February 8th.

This has been a very busy week, featuring a traditional Snow Day on Monday and Remote Learning on Tuesday through Friday.  We also held virtual Parent/Teacher Conferences this week and celebrated "World Read Aloud Day" with guest readers from Westbrook High School, who joined us online.  Tomorrow/Friday (Feb. 5) will be "Favorite Sports Spirit Day" and we encourage students and staff to "sport" their favorite team jerseys, sports apparel, hats, etc.

On Monday, February 8, we will celebrate our 100th Day of School and look forward to having our students and staff back in school, in-person.  Of course, families still have the option to have their children continue with remote learning, if they so wish.

As Valentines Day approaches, if students would like to bring in cards for classmates, we encourage them to bring one for each student in the class.  We also ask that students bring in these cards (if they wish) early next week, so that they can "sit" before distributing them later in the week.  We will celebrate "Friendship Spirit Day" on February 12.

Also, just a reminder that February 15 and 16 will be school holidays to recognize Presidents' Day (Feb. 15), creating a four-day weekend for winter break.

As always, thanks so much for all the support you give to our students and our school.  I am always available to listen to your concerns and ideas.

Take care,

Ruth W. Rose, Principal
